DPI and pts in 3.1.2

I’m very happy to see a new function that lets you reduce the image file size automatically when exporting. But…I don’t know how to use it. My photos have widely different file sizes, and many are much bigger than they should be. It will be great if I don’t have to go back and edit and replace each file.

The default settings are at 72 for the DPI, and 0 for the “Max size (pts)”. I don’t know why the Max size would be 0, or what it refers to.

Before I try compiling, can someone give me feedback on how this works?

See Section 23.4 in the Scrivener manual. (Be sure to open the manual directly from the Scrivener 3.1.2 Help menu, to be sure you get the latest version.)

The max size is the maximum height or width of the image. For instance, 468 points is the largest image that will fit in a typical 6.5" page. (8.5" paper with 1" margins on both sides.) If this is set to zero, then Scrivener will leave the original dimensions of the image alone.
