Draft/session targets no longer counting words

I’ve looked at previous forum posts about this and they either don’t apply to or address my issue (because I’m on a macOS?). I have been using Scrivener for over 10 years without a problem, though I admit I’ve only familiarized myself with a fraction of Scrivener’s capabilities. This is new as of today and I didn’t change any settings. It’s funny because this document has almost 19,000 words and the draft and session counts are suddenly sitting at 0 and don’t count up when I add words.

In Project Targets, I have “current compile group only” unchecked and “only count documents set to be included in compile” checked. When I look at Writing History, I have a zero under “draft” and then the actual number of words I’ve written today under “other,” only for today. I haven’t changed where I’m writing. When I check Statistics, “Compile” shows zeros all down the line, while “Selected Documents” shows my actual stats. I feel like somehow compile and the documents I’m actually looking to compile were decoupled and I don’t know how to fix that.

Sorry I can’t figure out how to include screenshots in this post for better clarity. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Is the current document nested inside the Draft folder?

Have you compiled the manuscript recently, and if so was the current document included?

Yeah it’s nested in the draft folder. I basically don’t compile so no it hasn’t been compiled lately. I wondered if maybe there was an update I needed but no luck there either.
