I have multiple small boxes connected with each other etc representing characters and characteristics. I have them grouped within two or three large background shapes
But now that they are inside those background shapes I find that I cannot drag a box around them and then move them around. I have to click outside the background shapes and then command-click on every individual item
Is this correct ?
Yes, that’s basically correct since it sounds like you are clicking on the background shape itself and dragging it. You just need to make sure you start dragging somewhere other than inside the shape:
The simply Cmd-click anywhere in the shape to remove it from the selection.
Yes … I have to Command Click on every item I don’t want including the background shape. I had thought that moving the background shape to the back would prevent it from being auto selected on dragging … but clearly not. Anyay … onward.
