Duplicate Project

hello, how to duplicate an entire Project please?

The original is full of images which are too large but I want a duplicate to remove the images so I have 1 of each version.

Is there a simple way to just duplicate the entire project? I can’t find it anywhere.

thank you!

Welcome to the Scrivener forum.

  • You could duplicate the folder (Windows) or package (macOS) using File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS). You don’t say which you use.

  • You could do a “save as” inside Scrivener to duplicate the open project into another location.

Probably other ways. I’d do the first to avoid confusion next time opening Scrivener.

Two things
First use the File > Save As command. You will give the current project a new name. This will be a duplicate of the original. It will diverge from this point forward and not be connected to the original.
Second consider the File > Import > Research Files as shortcuts You import your pictures and can see them in the research section, but are actually using a shortcut and this does not massively increase your project size. However, if move the image on the computer you break the link. Organize your pictures on the computer before doing this.
