I set up a great organization system inside of keywords for my last project. I am using the NaNo template for my current project, but I would love to be able to transfer that organizational structure over. Is there an easy way to do this? It involved a complex coloring and nesting scheme which is a pain to replicate (but gave me the ability to track tension, characters appearing vs. mentioned, locations, sub plots, and even story arc), so I would much prefer copy and pasting a file, rather than recreating from scratch. Thanks for your help! I love this program so much!
Have you tried selecting all of your keywords in one project and dragging them to a file in another?
Probably the easiest way to make use of your hard work is to do a “File->Save As” copy of your project, then remove everything that is specific to that project, creating a generic starting point for other books or whatever you’ll likely work on. Then take that cleaned up copy and go to File->Save as Template. Whenever you create a new project that can use those keywords, you’ll be able to choose that template instead of one of the built-in versions. Be sure to name it uniquely, so that you know which “Novel with Parts” is yours.
