I haven’t looked at this at all, so don’t mind me if I’m way off here, but if you want a Markdown to ePub route, just install Pandoc, restart Scrivener, and check out the expanded Compile For dropdown in the compile overview window.
Granted, it’s not going to hold your hand much, which is where maybe this is different, it expects you to know your stuff, but it will automate the cover page, ToC and metadata aspects. The CSS is up to you (as part of the Format).
Hmm. If this really is an early release, to me using 26 (as in new MacOS nomenclature) is misleading, as it suggests a long history of updates and bug fixes, which is not confidence building.
But I can’t think I’ll ever need it, so it’s a moot point.
The company is Indigogo Ltd, a one man shop. If you look at his other applications, he seems to be quite involved with Logic Pro. The website is: https://indigogo.io Note that the site was created to launch something that did not materialise (I suspect Logic Pro related app).
What comes to the version, he has changed it from traditional vx.x to vyy.xx format - most common reason for that with new software is to make it look more impressive. Version 1.0 was released last year so 26.xx are point releases (bug fixes etc.)
To me it looks he is either enthusiast, trying to build a portfolio or trying to find an app that he can monetise. Lacking in marketing, and probably strong involvement or reputation in correct circles, his apps haven’t got traction.
In any case, I don’t see anything suspicious in it.
