Past Special (Ctrl+Shift+V) is a powerful past function that would improve bringing files in from other programs. Almost every office type program has that feature, and I would like to see it added to the Scrivener Edit menu.
Thanks

It already exists! It’s called Paste and Match Style, but the shortcut is the same (for Windows).
Ah yes I see that Paste and Match Style is similar, but not exactly the same. It appears Scrivener copies the style of the test immediately before it. Hence you need to be more careful as you could introduce unwanted styles.
A true Edit / Past Special lets you paste with options including unformulated text.
I guess the current Paste and Match Style will work for now, but I would still like to see a true Edit / Past Special
I’m not following you, I guess. The Paste and Match Style command only pastes text, not formatting. So, in which way is it not equivalent to a true “Edit / Past Special”?
And what is unformulated text?
@ r6d2 Yes sir you are correct!
After testing more it looks like they are nearly the same. Though the typical PC “Edit / Past Special” Style does have some options to pick from before you paste. It would make a nice addition.
