Eliminating onscreen function bar

I have the Magic Keyboard hooked up to an iPad Pro M4. I don’t need any of the functionality of this onscreen function bar / popup / whatever it is. (There are keyboard shortcuts that take care of all that.) How do I get it to go away? I see nothing in any of the settings that would make it go away.

I posted this under iOS although the iPad now has its own OS as I didn’t see a sub-forum dedicated to the iPad.

Whether or not the iPad has its own OS is mysterious. Apple puts a different brand name on it, but who knows. :person_shrugging: It would be crazy to have an entirely different operating system because the screen is a different size. So it seems like marketing to me.

At any rate, yes, this toolbar is something the “iPadOS” puts on the screen. We can add buttons to it, but not much more than that.
