Emojis and Custom Icons (Lutris on Linux) (Tangentially Fonts)

Two separate but similar issues. I cannot get emojis to work in my lutris (wine) run Scrivener on linux. And when I select emojis to replace the icons they revert to a low resolution.

The latter issue I suspect might be related to wine configuration and my laptop’s resolution. I’m happy to be told how to correct this but am back to using the default icons instead.

The former issue is frustrating me enough to look to using Scrivener 1.9 for Linux natively or a program I’m trying out called WonderPen.

In brief: how do I get emojis to work in the text while using Lutris to run Scrivener?

I’ve been troubleshooting this issue for a few weeks with no luck, trying to install fonts also went sideways but I gave up on that. Why can’t I use more than a few emojis? I tried using openemoji for custom icons and thought I’d try to install them but I cannot figure it out. I also can’t get them to work in Scrivener 1.9 for Linux either. This is necessary because I am writing digital conversations that include emoji.

I know I’m repeating myself. Any guidance is deeply appreciated.
