Error exiting project with external folder sync. Had to Force Quit.

I apologize if this has already been covered. I tried several searches and didn’t get a hit. This is the text of the message I sent in with the error report:

"Scrivener experienced an unexpected error while I was using it. Here is what I was doing when the error occured:

I clicked on “Close Project” and the error occurred while it was syncing with the external folder.

If I click “Quit” on the “Internal Error” notice, I get a syncing square with a progress bar that said “Synching 52 of 90.” If I click ok, the only button that is clickable, I’m right back to the original internal error report. The beginning lines read the same as the one below.

I had to Force Quit Scrivener.

When I restarted it, I got the exact same error and had to force quit Scrivener again.

Restarted and clicked on File | Sync | With External Folder and got the error. So I force quit again.

Now I restarted went to File | Sync With External Folder and unchecked “Sync files in this project with external folder,” and clicked “Save” to capture the change.

After that I was able to exit the project successfully, but without the external sync.

I’m running Big Sur 11.0.1 and Scrivener 3.2.1 on a 2019 iMac with 64GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. "

Other than this issue, Scrivener has been running flawlessly on Big Sur.

I did some experimentation and the issue is isolated to one project.

I’ll do some more experimenting to see if I can isolate it to a particular chapter or folder. It’s probably just corruption in the file.
