I transferred a Google file to Scrivener. But in the process it changed the color of ink to blue and underlined every word. I can’t get it to switch back… Help.
Hi Beverly, and welcome to the forum.
This is an issue that has come up in a few different threads on the forum at different times.
At its root, the issue you’re seeing is that Google Docs is a web-based tool with its own proprietary format for its data.
Since it’s proprietary, Google’s parent Alphabet isn’t allowing third-party developers to create conversion tools that would let the text move easily from one program to another.
To get the text cleanly from Google Docs and into your Scrivener project, I recommend that you open that document in Google Docs and then tell Google Docs to export your text to RTF.
That should place a document with your text into your computer’s Downloads folder.
From there, you can use Scrivener’s File > Import options to import that RTF file into Scrivener.
On one of those other discussions, the user going by rms shared this specific set of instructions. You might find that comment helpful to review.
It also mentions a section in the Scrivener manual that you may find helpful to review. You can access Scrivener’s manual from its Help menu.
