Before I waste any more time trying it figure out how, is this even possible…?
I have a loooooong book outline set up in Scrivener, but I’d really like to be able to throw it into a mind map to see any bits I’ve missed. I had initally thought that if I could copy/paste or export into OmniOutliner, I could then save as OPML to import into any mind map software that I like. I can’t get it to retain the indentation or hierarchy whatever I do though.
Is there something I’m missing, or should this really be in the feature request forum?
There’s no way of doing this currently, I’m afraid. And because limitations in the OPML format (the common way of adding notes as an attribute is not great for the OS X XML exporters), I doubt OPML export will be added, I’m afraid.
I will take another look at it, though - I actually wrote an OPML exporter, but I just never included it because of the problems with the OPML “notes” attribute. I’ll take a fresh look just to see if a solution springs to mind, although I asked other developers at the time and they said it was a problem with the format.
All the best,
Keith
No plans as yet, I’m afraid. It’s way down on the 2.0 list so it’s unlikely I’ll even look at it before spring of next year. I don’t think it’s possible using the standard OS X XML exporters, though, because of the convention of storing notes as an attribute in OPML, which really shouldn’t contain newlines or tabs.
