Reinstalled Scrivener after system crash. Cannot close app now due to back-up failure. The default backup file does not exist after installation. Tried to create a backup file, produced the same result.
Check of permissions on %AppData% shows no restrictions.
Greetings,
Could you post a screenshot of the error message to help us narrow down the problem?
In the meantime, you could disable the “backup on project close” option in the Scrivener settings. Go to File → Options → Backup.
I would then check whether the backup folder still exists. By default, it is located here:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\LiteratureAndLatte\Scrivener\
Unless you have changed the default location of the backup folder, backups of the projects should be stored in the Backup folder under that path.
You can also try saving the project to a different location using the Save As function. If I’m not completely mistaken, and you have made at least one change to the project, a new backup file will be created automatically.
I hope this helpes.
