Faster linking via keyboard request

I do a lot of linking to document references and my most used method is via keyboard (command-L) rather than navigating through the binder to drag and drop a link. The dialog interface that pops up with command-L is nice but not much faster in navigation than using the binder to find and select the document target.

It would be nice in a future version if the dialog for command-L functioned as a search where as you type out the name of the document to link to it shows a list of potential targets, that continue to reduce as you type more of the name. This autocompletion capability I find very helpful in other applications for different functions (linking, searching, etc.) to quickly arrive at the target.

I believe we already have everything you would want covered, with various optional features and commands you may have not yet encountered. Have a look at this thread, which goes over wiki link style typing.

Also note the list of links to other threads I assembled there, for further investigations on techniques. I’ll be closing this thread, as any further discussion is probably better done over there.
