I use Scrivener’s Status field to track my manuscript phases (Drafting → Revision → Final). During drafting, I keep beat sheets and scene goals in Document Notes. During revision, I replace those with diagnostic notes. It would be extremely helpful if Scrivener offered a way to automatically refresh or archive Document Notes when a document’s Status changes.
For example:
-
When Status changes from Drafting → Revision, Scrivener could archive or clear Document Notes and optionally apply a “Revision Notes” template.
-
When Status changes from Revision → Final, Scrivener could archive diagnostics and clear Document Notes.
This would keep Document Notes contextual to the phase of the manuscript and streamline the drafting → diagnostics → revision workflow.
Thanks for considering it!
