I get this error message now. Am working on two windows laptops, everything works fine on one of them, but I can´t open the documents on the other. Both are windows, both scrivener versions are up to date. Help?
Using some sort of sync service? If so, are you allowing time for sync to complete, and are the settings for “offline” set for both machines? Scrivener must have access to files that are on the local disk, not “in the cloud”. If not so, then something else, I guess.

Thank you for replying. Just using Dropbox, like I have for years., that has never been a problem.
OK, but recall that Dropbox changed the default setting for online/offline.
As long as both computers are set for offline, and you are allowing sufficient time to sync fully … then I guess the problem is elsewhere. I can’t think where elsewhere is.
I know you Macabees had to suffer through that without pre warning by Dropbox.
Seems they’ve now extended it to Windows as well. I actually got an alert on my Dropbox icon yesterday “offering” online only storage.
That’s an improvement worth noting.
Hope they don’t inundate me with the offer, though, like Google and Microsoft “marketing” are fond of doing.
That’s good to know. I didn’t know Windows not included (till now) into this “offline/online” issue. The good news it’s easily resolvable once recognised.
