I recently updated my Scrivener software. After doing this, I can no longer open one of my files. I can open one file, but not the other. I get a message as follows: " The document “…” could not be opened. The project at …" seems to be of an older format, but no binder.scrivproj file could be found inside it." I tried following the instructions, but they didn’t work. Luckily I have an older computer with the older version of scrivener on it. The file opened perfectly with no problem. How can I fix this. I shouldn’t lose my files when I update the software.
The most common cause of this error is incomplete synchronization. Dropbox (or another service) “helpfully” “optimizes” your disk so that part of the project is stored exclusively on their server, where Scrivener can’t access it.
