Firefox and Sonoma

I’ve recently aquired a new Mac Mini m2 pro at a very good price and am in the process of setting it up with a clean install rather than use migration assistant. Time consuming, but it should get rid of any accumulted crud from severall years of transfers. It’s running Sonoma 14.7.1 - I’m waiting for the .2 release of Sequoia before updating.

There are two accounts - admin and user since I install apps to the admin account but run as user. All is fine with Ventura that I’m currently using.

I’m having problems with Firefox. - v133 UK English. When installed in the admin account none of the Prefs will stick. Installed via the user account using admin privileges all is well. Fine for me as the single user but any additional users are going to face the same problem. Other browsers - Vivaldi and Edge - when installed in the admin account work fine with no probs. My guess is it’s due to Apple’s updated security provisions.

Are there any Firefox users out there who have encountered similar problems and found a solution?

Ideas perhaps when searching internet for “firefox preferences not remembered sonoma”.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a similar search but found nothing very helpful. I’ll have another go.

Eventually nailed it - or at least I think I have :grinning:. I found something buried in the Mozilla support site. It did involve manually editing a config file, but hopefully that’s a permanent fix. Last time I had to do that was back in the days of DOS 3.3.

Three cheers for BBEdit which will save files with Unix (LF) line endings which Firefox requires, even for the Windows versions.

Over and out.
