Flickering blank page error in 3.5

After updating to 3.5 recently, there is an error where pages will appear blank, but when I scroll the contents appear in a flickering image. This has never happened in the 10+ years of using Scrivner. I have a short screen recording showing the error:

In the meantime, I’ve switched back to the 3.4 – and it does not exhibit these problems

We/L&L need more info.

Any oddity about your system setup/apps.
I’m assuming it doesn’t happen with any other apps

Observations:

I’m not sure if this is related or not, by I am noticing that scrolling is much more sluggish right across Scrivener 3.5. When scrolling, the FPS (monitored via iStats) jumps from its idling to 90+FPS, but there is obvious stuttering/slow scrolling. Other factors: I have Grammarly installed, and this is also trying to augment the textarea, so it could be an issue with that.

(M1 Max, macOS 26.0.1)

As a start turn off Grammarly, and/or un-install Grammarly and test.

I tried this already, and to be honest, scrolling is less than silky smooth right across the OS. While it’s more noticeable in Scrivener, I’m thinking this may be more of an issue with Apple’s text system. For example, I spend most of my day in VSCode which does not exhibit the issue at all: it uses its own text rendering engine, I believe.

Yes. Most likely, IMHO. Maybe/Possibly/Probably/Probably-not/WhoKnows next version of macOS 26 will be better.

I think this is an Apple problem. I sometimes get flickering on my M2Pro Mac Mini running 15.7.1, though not a blank screen. I think I’ve seen it in Scrivener; I definitely see it in the iCab browser. It’s as if the scroll stops in the middle of a text line at the top of a window and doesn’t know whether to move up or down the few pixels to get to a complete line. Tapping the up or down arrow key sorts it.

Chrome (as well as Safari) has a lot of flickering, especially when compositing effects like blurs and box-shadows, which suggests problems with the Apple Metal rendering engine, or other UI compositing things. Could all be related.

Mac OS: 15.6.1 (24G90)
1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB

Nothing strange that I can think of about my Mac set up — like i said, never had this problem in earlier installs of Scrivner, and 3.4 is running fine. Doesn’t happen on other apps either.
