Floating Notepad on top of Scrivener

Use Case: I’m in a reference document (an article from the press) which I’ve pasted into Scrivener for convenience. I’m going through it selecting content for inclusion in my novel. Not that it matters but it’s a list of Federal Agencies. I’m using Apple Notepad to paste the terms as I find them. The Notepad window of course goes away each time I paste something in it. Is there a way to streamline this behavior (with any note collector) so that the window stays open over my Scrivener Document?

Put both windows (Scrivener and Notepad) side by side.

Other than that, you could entirely do this in Scrivener. Check out Split Editor, Copyholders and Quick Reference Windows in the manual.

I’m not quite sure what you mean. But note that both Scrivener and Apple Notepad have a floating function. And look here

Your post seems to have been truncated. This is very interesting to me! thanks.

I see you are referencing what L&L call “Quick Reference Windows.” Great tip!

No, he is referring to creating a custom project that floats. I now also use it and it is always open.

Oh. Thanks for the clarification.

Exactly

I’m glad to hear that
