Folder confusion

In Finder I have a folder called Scrivener, and one called Scrivener projects. What is the difference, and can I combine any of them?

Where are these folders and what is in them?

If one of them contains your Scriv Backups and the other contains your active projects, then NO you do not want to combine them.

But seems like we need to know more about these folders to advise.

I don’t think there is any function of Scrivener that would make a folder called ‘Scrivener projects’, so you made that folder.

The one called Scrivener contains many, many zip backups, non-zipped backups, and the main .scriv Scrivener Project.

I may well have made my own folder called Scrivener Projects ages ago in what turns out to be a vain attempt to organise things. Thanks for the clarification.

I shall explore deleting old backups, which be a better way to get organised.

You never want your backups in the same folder (preferably never on the same drive or cloud service) as your projects.

Work on the basis sooner or later something will go wrong.
