I have my default font set to Ariel. My documents are formatted as Ariel. Yet, whenever I copy text from my document and paste it using Ctrl-v, it pastes as Segoe UI.
For clarity:
My default font set to Ariel.
I am copying text that is currently formatted as Ariel into a section of document that is all formatted as Ariel.
And when I use Ctrl-v, it pastes as Segoe UI.
I am sure this is some simple setting I have wrong, but I can’t find it and it’s driving me nuts having to reformat every time I paste. Thanks!
I’m having the same problem, but it pastes as Calibri. (Version: 3.1.5.1, on Windows 11)
I have my default font set to Times New Roman. I even created a style called “Default” with TNR as the font and set everything to that style, hoping that would fix things. It did not.
Even copying and pasting within the very same page will change the font to Calibri.
And before someone suggests it, CTRL+SHIFT+V removes all of the formatting, including my Default Style, which means it’s an even BIGGER pain to reformat everything than to change the font back to TNR.
Besides, if the entire document is in a single font, and TNR is set as my default, with a Style that is also TNR, why would it change pasted text into Calibri? NOTHING is set as Calibri in my system. (I personally despise that font and struggle to read sans serif due to dyslexia.)
It makes no sense. I’ve yet to figure out a solution that keeps all of my formatting when I paste.
BTW, I am Version: 3.1.5.1 (2073405) on 64-bit Windows 10 Pro
Could be that something you guys grabbed off the net poluted your formatting.
Use paste and match style. Under the edit menu. Or Ctrl-Shft-V.
If this works, it means you have other issues on their way.
You’ll have to clean the mess before you compile.
Agree with Vincent about something might be polluting your documents. Suggest create blank document add text you type to the Editor. Use the default formatting, go to project settings and reset default.
Now open new document and see what you get when you type. And then cut paste and match style from some web source and see what happens. If ok, I would use Documents > Convert > Text to Default Formatting. Need this cleaned up before compile.
