I work between Mac, Windows and iOS, however Mac > Windows is my most used pipeline and where the problem always happens.
When I work between the platforms, the fonts will change when I switch to the other platform. Sometimes I they turn to outline mode, which slows the entire computer down until I’m able to painstakingly go through all of the documents in my project and undo it - then it runs smooth and fast. Other times It’ll change fonts randomly to either courier or helvetica - but it’s random which documents turn to which font, despite my changing them all to times new roman to try and troubleshoot the issue since that’s a common font across all platforms. It hasn’t worked.
I just don’t understand how or why, or what i’ve done wrong or how to fix it.
Fonts on Mac and Windows are not always the same, including many of the standard ones that come with the OS and have the same name in the UI; they are referenced differently under the hood, so the other system doesn’t recognise them and substitutes its default nearest equivalent.
For that reason, working with collaborators, whether on Mac or Windows, I set the fonts to Times New Roman or Georgia, and Arial or Verdana, which don’t get switched, even though I don’t like them personally and use other fonts for my own work.
Since one of the things about Scrivener is that the font you draft in doesn’t have to be the font you compile to, I find just going with those fonts is easiest.

Have you checked if the type is the same? I can image a True Type Font is not matched with an Open Type Font. I guess the Open Type variant on all devices would be the best option.

I honeslty have no idea - it’s just the built in times-new-roman font that they all have. I don’t know how to check if its the same times new roman?
I have all of my documents set to times new roman to try and combat the issue, but still have the issue and I can’t figure out why. Especially when it randomly turns everything to outline mode?
