Footer: Changing counter parameter

Hello! I want to start by apologizing if my topic is repetitive (I looked up for related topics and couldn’t find the answer for my question, but it might be due to poor researching skills).

Since I write for social media for a living, it would be best for me if my footer showed the character count, instead of word count, so I wouldn’t have to click on it to check if I have already met the text size necessary for every post.

But I couldn’t find the settings for that change, if there’s any.

A little help would be appreciated. If the option is not available, then I hope the developers take this as a suggestion.

Thanks in advance for anyone kind enough to help me with this.

Best regards.

Welcome to the forum!

In Scrivener 3 for Window, please go to File > Options > Editing > Options. There, you can change the “Live counts show:” setting from “Words” to “Characters” or “Characters no spaces” depending on your needs.

Also if you click footer at bottom where word count is will see more details including characters and characters with no spaces and paragraphs.
