Formatting in Find and Replace

I’ve written a word in all caps and italicized in numerous places throughout my document; it is supposed to be italicized, but with only the first letter capitalized. Is there a way to find and replace this in Scrivener or must I do it in the exported document in other software?

If I have understood your question correctly…

You can search for CATS and replace it with Cats.

If Scrivener is finding-and-replacing a word that is already italicised, the italics will be retained.

Thanks!

Pleasure. Hope it all works as you want. Best to do a test first, before hitting “Replace All”.
