Front Matter Problem

Hi,

I’m new to this forum, and have searched it.

I’m stuck adding a front cover during compile.

The “Add front matter” dropdown menu doesn’t include the image file I want to add.

It only show “None” and “Untitled Document”.

How do I add my image file to the list?

The PDF export is mainly for proofing your work, not making books. There is no way to add a cover image (and about a thousand other things you would want to do to make a book). What you want to be doing at this point is most likely compiling to RTF or DOCX, and getting that into a desktop publishing program.

As an aside though, it looks like you have moved your front and back matter folders into the Draft folder itself, which is why they are not available for selection. This feature is meant to provide the ability to swap out different material depending on the file type you are compiling, and thus are meant to be outside the draft folder as they wouldn’t always be selected. If you just have one thing you want to do, it’s not a super necessary feature to use. I very rarely use it, and instead just put all of the material in the draft folder.

Dear Amber,

Moving the folders to Research worked immediately.

Thank you so much.
