Full Screen Mode Glitch

I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this, but when in full screen mode sometimes when you type down to a certain part of the page, the screen will “flip,” or reset orientation in a very disorienting way such that I lose track of where the cursor is. Its like its always trying to orient the text to the center of the screen.

Latest version of Scrivener

Format > Options > Typewriter Scrolling. You’ll want to turn it off if you don’t like it. It’s generally great for composing, not so great for editing.

Thanks - I actually didn’t have typewriter scrolling turned on.

But because you mentioned it, I tried it on and off, and it responded the same either way.

If I’m typing on a line other than the center line, it will automatically put the line I’m typing on to the center.

I tried it on the normal scrivener screen too (not full screen), and it does the same thing there too.

I know I’m new, but I have to say that this is a great product - Looooove scrivener.

Thanks for all you do.

Hmm, that definitely shouldn’t be the case. One thing to note is that typewriter scrolling is turned on separately for the regular window and for full screen mode, so to turn it off while in full screen mode you have to be in full screen mode at the time. Could this be what has happened at all?

Thanks for the kind words!

All the best,
Keith

Thanks. That was it. I had to be in full screen when I made the change for full screen, and vice versa.

Rock on.
Justin

Great! Glad that helped!
All the best,
