Hi…
workng on my latest WIP and I find that each and every time I write a new scene, I have to type something – then Control & A to select all – then go to font and size and line spacing etc to force what I want to see used.
is there a way to setup a GLOBAL force to get that done? so that it always uses the same choice I want for font, size and spacing?
You want to go to Tools->Options->Editor and set up the sample text there to be the way you want yours to look in Scrivener. From that point forward, when you create a new entry in the binder, it will conform to those settings. To convert existing documents to those settings, select them in the binder and go to Documents->Convert->Formatting to Default Text Style…
The Font selector in the Editor section of Options is a little counter-intuitive, I think. It’s the italic blue “A” in the top left of the right pane, just left of the B, I, and U. When you click it, it lets you change the font, the style, and the size.
In mine, the text is already selected when I choose the Editor pane in Options. I can click outside the highlighted text and the buttons gray out, and then I can click the text again like you say, to bring the buttons back. So I guess there’s one thing that the Windows version does better?
