I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Christmas, and if you don’t celebrate it, then a happy holiday if you have one. (If neither, then hey, just have a great week.)
Thank you all for your fantastic support throughout the year and for raving about Scrivener to your friends and on blogs - David and I couldn’t keep the good ship Scrivener afloat without you.
An especially big thank you to David for all his hard work on the videos (and everything else behind the scenes) throughout the year, and to the as-yet-unpaid AmberV for manning the forums, maintaining the FAQ, and explaining Scrivener to users better than I do on many occasions. But also to all of you who take the time to answer the questions of new users, never scaring them off (despite Vic-k’s best attempts and Jaysen’s rather scary headless avatar ), giving me more time to work on 2.0 (yes, it will be out in 2010, I promise ), and making this forum a pleasure to use - there are too many of you to mention (though I will say a special thanks to Jaysen for all the very techy technical support he has given this year to users with computer problems beyond my own knowledge).
I’ll be spending the next few days with the family and playing with my kids’ new toys (swearing a lot over the sherry no doubt as a lot of it needs building), and generally stuffing myself on roast potatoes and Quorn roast. So I won’t be around for a few days but will be back when the hangover has worn off. And then in the next couple of months we should have some exciting news and some teases of 2.0 to show off.
I, the much maligned, and oft times, unjustifiably castigated and vilified, Vic-K, would like to add my endorsement to the sentiments expressed above, by the self-deitized Captain of the Good Ship Scrivener, Grumpy Blounty.
A Happy Holiday to one n all.
Vic
And I, having just finished a two-week run as Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol,” can assure you that even the grumpiest and meanest-hearted and coldest-eyed of misanthropes can be brought around to appreciate true charity after a nightful of ghosts.
KB, thank you for scrivener and the forum to give a little back. If you then the avatar is scary you should see the real thing. Mrs felt this was a good compromise. Oh, and poke DMJ in the all seeing eye for me next time you see him. We are still waiting on the real tips page…
I would like to wish everyone a merry christmas and a joyful new year. While I am sure this will disappoint a few folks, I will not resolve stay out of the forums in 2010. Sorry.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year; I don’t actually celebrate and it wasn’t a holiday for me, but that was fine. An absolutely favourite friend is in Xiamen again from Guangzhou, so we had a really long and good lunch together, and I’m now visiting another favourite friend in Fuzhou, so for me those were really good Christmas presents.
But I too am well ahead of you all, and the day is almost over. So wishing you all “Bonne continuation” …
We managed to get a right good blizzard in the last two days, so we couldn’t even make it to worship. First time in 60 years that I think I have missed worship on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.
Of course, my idea of winter is to let the temperature get down to 60 degrees F, pull out the photo album and look at the pics of past snow storms, and exclaim, “That was a good winter!” Then put the album back.
Enjoy your time off, KB. And look forward to the release of 2.0.
The very merriest of Christmases to all Scrivenites, and you especially, Keith, for making my life so much easier and paving the way for my frazzled little brain to actually send things out into the world. I’ve been a little AWOL lately due to the frenzy of Christmas prep and two flown-the-nest kids returning (all too briefly) home for the holidays. But I think of you all often and fondly, especially the fellow-demented vic-k and Jaysen, and will be back in the saddle soon (figuratively and literally)!
Now Mr. Shadow, I think we have been over that a few times. While I (and maybe a few others) would like a nice, tidy, enumerated list on a separate page (say /tip-of-the-day), I will take what I can get.
