Fun. But I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking: why didn’t the older character disappear when the younger trashed the machine? But then, if he trashed it, surely the older character would never have existed. Such are the problems of time travel stories: chonoclasms. (I commend this as a theme for a future NIAD. Paging @pigfender)
Maybe he didn’t get paid enough to pull off a more technologically advanced performance?
The paradoxes of time travel. However, it is a comedy sketch, not serious sci-fi. Let us not lose sight of that.
Also, comedy = tragedy + time, so a time-travel tragedy should eventually be funny, until the paradox does/doesn’t catch up.
