HELP - Looking for Font Recognizer Software

Hello,
I’m working on an ‘inspirational image’ for my WIP and I’m stuck trying to find a suitable font. What I’m looking for is software that will examine the photo I’m using and then USING MY OWN FONTS (I have a butt-load installed) , help me match it up to the closest font THAT I ALREADY HAVE INSTALLED.

The reason I put this in all-caps is because a quick google-search finds me lots of programs that are willing to do this in general, but I SPECIFICALLY want to know which of MY INSTALLED FONTS is the closest so I can use it.

If anybody knows, that would be great!!

Thanks

JWhitten

It might help to tell us what platform you are using.

On the Mac, you can use Font Book to search your installed fonts by name, but it can’t directly do a visual “looks like this” search.

Here’s an article with a list of resources that might help: Font Identification: How to Find The Name Of A Font In Use

Answering my own question here…

I found a program. Not the cheapest thing ever ($49 bucks), but it does the job, albeit not as nicely (IMO) as the online, web versions I looked at. But it does allow me to test against my own fonts, which was the essential item I needed (wanted).

It’s called “Find My Font”. I don’t know if I would recommend it over the online versions unless you specifically need to test it against your own fonts. It works okay, but it’s kind of a pain-in-the-butt to use.

This is the homepage if anybody’s interested: https://www.findmyfont.com/

Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it.

I have used this before, it works well.

You can save yourself a lot of time and effort by just using Arial for everything.

Oh, I use Comic Sans. Is that bad?

Not at all. It’s distinctive and shows character.

Works for me… but apparently not for the State of West Virginia…

That’s not funny.
