I am new to Scrivener. I routinely annotate pdfs in the mac Highlight app or PDF Expert, both of which provide a helpful summary on the side of what was highlighted. They can be turned, for example, into note cards. Scrivener allows users to highlight text on imported pdfs, but - apart from that basic attribute - there is no record of the highlight beside the document in the Notes section. Do I have to copy and paste highlights to get that info across? If so, that’s very disappointing. Hope I’ve simply misunderstood how it all works. Thx in advance. Daryl
No, what you’re describing is not a feature of Scrivener.
Note that you can open PDFs in the external application of your choice. You can also import them as aliases, leaving the actual file outside of Scrivener and under control of your chosen application.
