How can I change a plain text document to the "scene" format

As english is not my native language this is a bit difficult to describe for me:

I have a film script and in it I have scenes in the binder. For some reasons some of those scenes seems to have a special document type. The icon is yellow with little text with a heading on it and in the edit window I can choose in a little menu at the bottom between “scene heading”, “action”, “character” and so on.

But some scenes in my scene-binder are just plain text. The icon is just white and the in the edit window there is no menu to choose formatting from at the bottom, just a target-symbol. if I click on this symbol I can type in how much characters I want to target for this document.

So here is my question: I would like to change the plain text scenes into those yellow scenes, while not losing the text I have written. Is there any way to do that?

I couldn’t find anything about this in the documentation.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

For these documents, click into them and go to Format > Scriptwriting > Script Mode (or hit cmd-8). Script Mode is remembered separately for each document.

Hope that helps.

All the best,
Keith

Thanks Keith, that works! Keep up the good work with scrivener.
