Are we talking about a pretty inactive user that just came out of a coma?
For the record: there are three anniversary notices there.
Well⦠Click on dismiss for startersā¦
The word ādismissā isnāt displayed.
It is, in your first screenshot.
Bottom, right one of two.
But I want my active threads to be displayed. Sometimes I have to do research and come back to them. Or Iāll have commented on someone elseās thread and donāt remember the title.
Well then, waste a whole huge minute clicking those badges notifications once.
You should be good for a while after that.
By the way : you can bookmark posts/threads.
I had no idea that clicking on them deleted them. That āfeatureā doesnāt seem to be listed anywhere. Your āwaste a whole huge minuteā post is the only place where the solution can be found.
Who wudda thought that clicking on one of these items would delete them?
Imagine if email worked that way.
And so, thanks.
Uncheck āSkip new user onboarding tips and badgesā. (That doesnāt delete the old ones, but it prevents new badge notifications.)
So, not skipping them skips them?
Hardly intuitive.
Wow.
Sorry, check āSkipā¦ā of course. Youāre irritating me. ![]()
Yeah. Good thing there isnāt a badge for that. ![]()
It was checked, and the irritating notices came. Thatās what provoked the post in the first place.
I think it only blocks the very first ādo something, get oneā few badges.
But in your case @pseingalt, you have the ābasicā and āeditorā badges in there. Something tells me that no, you did not have it checked.
Weird. The starter badges are probably the ones youād want to see (or donāt care), since at this early point thereās not much else to get notified about. But if even turning off those doesnāt work⦠I think you should talk to the Discourse people.
That switch is probably intended for people member of other forums and who do already know.
That kind of makes sense.
Iāve been on this forum since before they changed the software.
