I saw a thread about someone adding a Kincaid-Flesch “add on” to Scrivener, using “services”. How does one do this? What other services can I add to my Scrivener to help me with my novel?
One of the most popular is Devon’s Word Service, which cleans up double paragraphs, funny quotes, etc:

I think you just click on Word Service to install it now; you used to have to fooster around with the keyboard preferences, but I think it’s simpler now.
Hm, now I have a Services problem myself - this really counts as a bug, I think.
When I last (yesterday) looked at the project I’m now editing and another one I have open in a different window, the Services menu had several items on it, including Reformat, which is from Devon’s Word Services. Now they’re gone. I went to the System Prefs and Reformat is in fact there, and is in fact checked.
Do you have a chunk of text selected when you go to the Services menu?
Aha! I didn’t have text selected - so that’s the secret! Thank you.
Devin, while you’re at it, can you talk about how you install Services you want? I think you just click on them now, but I’m not sure.
Something weird is going on with Reformat; it used to take out double carriage returns, now it seems to be putting them in. Hm.
Unfortunately, I’m coming late to the party – I am figuring all of this out as I go, as I am primarily a Windows guy and have only really dropped heavily into Mac OS X as part of the beta testing (I even went and bought a new-to-me Mac mini so I met the specs).
