An old topic, I know. But I searched the forum on this and none of the questions match mine and none of the answers make sense. I just compiled to .docx and there are headers. I must have entered these several years ago when I started writing the book. Now they are wrong and I want to change them. When I go to Compile/Page Settings there are header options but I don’t see the text of the headers that I want to change. In the various boxes I only see symbols and placeholders. I tried to go back to my manuscript in Scrivener to find where I entered the header info but I can’t find it. I want author name on one page and book title and page number on the other. I read two books on how to use Scrivener but that was a long time ago and I’m lost.
Are you tryint to format this for a manuscript for submittal or an ebook?
I’m using the compile function to create a Word Document. When I do this the Word document has headers that I don’t want. I created these headers a long time ago. Now I want to eliminate them, but I can’t figure out how to do that. One bit of help info I found says to go to Compile/Page Settings and replace the information in the boxes there. But I don’t see any of my info in those boxes. I just see weird characters. I’ve tried to figure out when and how I entered the headers in the first place and I can’t do it. I know it’s part of the process for setting up a new manuscript but how do I get back to that point and change the headers?
