How do i create a duplicate of my project as a new version?

I’ve a project draft which i want to save as it is and want to create a new version of it so that i can apply edits. How do i do this please?

Do a Save As, with a name that identifies it, then choose which version you want to keep editing. Just be careful you open the correct one going forward.

Wouldn’t “Backup to…” (and keep going with the current project) be less risky?

Yes, however if the OP is likely to refer back to the original it’s quicker if it’s a project rather than backup

Yeah. On the other hand, this backup doesn’t have to be zipped.

True, just so used to having that set to zip for every backup, so again requires additional thought in my worn out brain. The OP might have a younger, more functional one

I’m probably paranoid. If one option requires to “be careful” and the other doesn’t… There’s just one I’m going to mention. :joy:

thank you
I’ll try that

At 73 and now survived 6 heart attacks, every day is ‘be careful’.  :person_shrugging: :person_shrugging:

But I was out ‘carefully’ shoveling garden mulch this morning, and just spent 3 hours ‘carefully’ baking for this afternoon’s ‘meet and greet’ down by the jetty where I intend to ‘carefully’ down a couple of glasses of wine…

Take a snapshot. It saves you getting lost on which saved draft is which with everything in one project document and the latest one available in the Binder.
You can also do snapshots to your hearts content, and all will be accessible and nicely dated for you in the Inspector.
The feature allows comparing drafts, highlighting changes you’ve made through sequential edits.
You can even revert to an old snapshot draft if you believe it was better.
