How do I delete built-in templates?

I tried to revise them with my name/address, etc., but then I get templates with duplicate names, and although I can delete the ones I’ve edited, I can’t delete the ones that are already there.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of the original templates that come with the software? This is annoying!

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

You can’t delete the built-in templates, I’m afraid. They should show your name and address on open anyway, though - the information is taken from the Address Book.

All the best,
Keith

Hmmm…thanks for your reply, Keith.

I finally set up my Address Book card properly, and tested it and sure enough it automatically populated the name/address/etc fields, although it did so in some oddball (maybe this is how they do it over there?) fashion.

Here’s how it the information was automatically presented on the page:

[FIRSTNAME] [SURNAME]
[STREET ADDRESS]
[CITY]
[STATE]
[ZIP CODE]
[TELEPHONE NUMBER]
[EMAIL ADDRESS]

when what it should have shown (at least for USA users) is:

[FIRSTNAME] [SURNAME]
[STREET ADDRESS]
[CITY], [STATE] [ZIP CODE]
[TELEPHONE NUMBER]
[EMAIL ADDRESS]

Anyway, just thought I’d let you know. Thanks for clearing it up, and thanks for your fast reply.

After purchasing the software, I’m just going through the headaches and heartache of learning it … but I sure do like what I see so far, and really hope Scrivener’s userbase grows and its improvement/development continue!
