How long until Scrivener is updated for macOS 26 Tahoe?

I have downloaded this new version but I am asked for a Licence Code.

You should be able to just run it in the free trial mode. It’s a stopgap version until the proper update is ready to release, which will be out before the free trial period is over.

340 miles, just a quick drive around the block here in Aus. :joy:

Imperial units are so underappreciated. Imagine you had to drive 547 kilometers instead! Booooring. Not only is this much longer than 340 miles (obviously), but people who slept at school don’t realize the additional benefit of driving at a much slower speed of 81 mph*, instead of 130 km/h, and still arriving at the same time! Which is good for the environment and stuff. Mind-boggling, I know.

* a speed easily achievable by welding together 6.5 bicycles!

Ah yes, but I can speed along at 110 while the poor Brits are limited to 70. It just feels faster.

AND, I once received a speeding ticket for 140 and copped a fine. I suspect a Brit copping a 140 speeding ticket would be walking home or hauled off to jail.

MAJOR benefit of Metric.

ā€žYour kilometerage might vary.ā€œ doesn’t sound good either.

Hey! Congratulations on the major life milestone!!!

I’m pretty sure it takes 340 miles to get to Cornwall even if you’re already in Cornwall. Plus @KB would have to do things like ā€œnavigateā€ and ā€œturnā€. Often when in the US our satnav will cheerily give us instructions like ā€œin 150 miles, stay in laneā€.

Yes, our Aussie Satnav does the same With the exception of two small sections shortly to be bypassed it’s a motorway all the way from Sydney to Brisbane (pronounced ā€˜brisbin’

Also, 90% of the roads in Cornwall are required by law to be slightly-less -than-one-car-width one-track lanes with grass running down the middle and impassible 15 ft high hedges on both sides. Passing spots are allowed, but only once every 5 miles.

And that’s in the towns.

Thanks! She’s actually the second one at university; just one left to go.

And on top of the above, you’re considered a speed freak around here if you do anything over 30mph. There used to be a custom whereby local drivers who couldn’t go above thirty, indicate, or reverse, stuck a symbol on the backs of their cars to let other drivers know. (A black rectangle with a white cross through it.) Alas, now it’s just everybody.

(I hope no one from Cornwall is reading; I’ll be lynched. )

Yeah, I hope there are no Cornish people who read that… where would we be if you got lynched!

N.B. In Devon, lots of drivers don’t know how to indicate, but reversing is mandatory… to park in a supermarket car park, you have to reverse into a free space, driving in forwards is totally un-Devonian!

The MacOS Tahoe update came in last night 26.0.1, and now the compile doesn’t work using the compatibility test build. The ā€œCompile:ā€ drop down to select ā€œwork to be compiledā€ and the settings tabs (cover, meta, etc) don’t work. They are all there, but unclickable. Help!!!

I’m not seeing this - I have 26.0.1 installed and all the compile buttons are clickable in the latest test build. Could you please try this build and see if it’s still the same?

I’m also not seeing this. I just had to set up a new Compile for outlining a full ms + double space PDF for paper edits & everything worked okay here (macOS 26.0.1, Scrivener 3.45, M1 MBP)

That worked. Not sure why it’s not working. I wasn’t having issues yesterday. Thanks for your help!!!

Great, glad it seems to be working now at least! Thanks for checking.

Hola @KB

I’ve got a couple books that are currently in the ā€œlots of new compilesā€ stage of development so have held off going to Tahoe which is unfortunately creating other issues so want to update sooner rather than later. Just wondering, if you think you’ll push the gold 3.5 later this week or is it going to be later?

Okay everyone, 3.5 is live!

We’ll get an official forum announcement up soon, but go ahead and ā€œCheck for updatesā€ from 3.4 (and it should work from the earlier test build we provided; not sure about the one right above). If that doesn’t work for some reason, you can always download from the main page.

Is this version ā€œsafeā€ for 15.7.x or would you rather advise to wait (if it ain’t broke…).
