How to change the type of the project?

I started a project as blank, but I wanted to change to research proposal or paper. Is there any way to do that?

There are no “types” of projects. The templates are just starters: you can do anything with a Blank project that you can with one from any other template.

If you want to make your project more like one of the other starters, the easiest way would be to create a new project with the template you want. Then either drag your material into the new project, or drag the specific files you want from the new project into your existing one.
