I use Scrivener on two computers, transferring my project data via Dropbox. It appears that the custom formats that I have added are not carried over. Is there a way to make them available on the second computer?
Most of your settings, custom project templates, compile presets, script formats and other such things are stored in the hidden AppData folder, under Local\Scrivener\Scrivener. For example if you copy a CompileSettings file from one computer to another, putting it in the same location, when you restart Scrivener and compile, you should see it appear in the “Format As” list, like on the original computer (not sure if that is what you mean by custom formats, but I’m sure you get the idea).
By ‘custom formats’ I mean the presets you can set up and apply on the Format/Formatting/ menu. Where will I find these in the AppData folder?
Yes, those are saved there as well. Look for a file called “TextPresets.bin” and copy that over to the other computer.
