Hi all, longtime Scrivener user for novels, first-timer figuring out v3. I’ve got my compiler acting well now for my novel ebook format, but one nut I can’t crack is that I use occasional subheadings in my chapters to start a new story setting, and the compiler is auto-indenting the 2nd line of them even though my manuscript has them left-justified.
How can I stop the indenting of these opening lines? thanks!
It depends.
Are you using Styles to create the indent? Or is it the Settings tab in the Section Layout page of the Compile Format Designer? Or your default formatting?
I’m using .25 for the default indent in the manuscript and overriding it for the chapter descriptor lines. In the compiler it’s also .25 in the section layout (“edit default paragraph formatting”)
I tried eliminating the indent in the section layout but that left-justified all my text in the epub.
It’s probably the Settings tab in the Section Layout page of the Compile Format Designer.
Double-Click your Compile Format to open the Compile Format Designer. In the Section Layouts page, open the last tab called Settings an set the bottom radiobutton “Remove after empty lines and other headings” (not @ pc).
