How to put chapter titles in page headers

I’m trying to compile my novel with the chapter titles in the page header. I’ve tried all of these placeholders, and none of them work:
<$pageGroupTitle>
<$level1_title>
<$sectiontitle>

I’m using:
Scrivener Version: 1.9.17.0
Win10pro

I also use Windows10 pro and that version of Scrivener - I came to the forum with another problem and someone suggested upgrading to the latest version 3.1.5.1. Which hasn’t solved my problem entirely - made a new problem with a large project not opening! - but sorted out the first concern - you might consider looking at an upgrade to help (but I’m not an expert at all).
