How to troubleshoot jpg files not importing

I have jpg files I need in my document. When I drag and drop, it says “copy” but it does not copy or paste. I have the same problem with adding a Word document with these same jpg files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Scrivener and the Scrivener forum!

From here, sounds like a problem with flawed–or perhaps “too big”–JPG files. Perhaps export them from Word and open in an image editor program and re-save them. Consider changing the resolution. Or something to “un-flaw” them, or at least check their quality. Then re-import them to Word, or directly into Scrivener. Do they have to be JPG? Perhaps you can use another image format, e.g. PNG which works pretty well for images which are not photographs.

There’s a size cap on Jpg-files, enforced by the Qt6 framework. If you make the size smaller do they show up?

You can right click on the images in the word document and use the Save Picture as and change the format to png files and then save to desktop and try adding to Scrivener. That way you do not need to purchase anything else to get it into scrivener.

If you need to capture an image windows key + shift + s gets you to the included snip tool. Snips are saved into the clipboard (windows key + v) and these images can be copied into windows and then saved as any format you need. I use snagit, but you do not need to spend more money to import into scrivener.
