How to use the flatten indent function in Compile

Hello,

I am trying to remove the indents that are automatically showing up in my compiled version (as opposed to the ones I put there intentionally.) This is in reference to the indents which start each new paragraph in the Text sections.

So I am looking through my compile format (Manuscript Times) settings for the correct location. But I am not confident I have the right place.
From what I can tell I want to flatten the indents. (Does ‘flatten indents’ mean remove them?)

Is Styles the correct place? I found an older post here suggesting ‘Separators’ but I do not find a setting there.
I am looking at Styles >> Body for a clue. Please see screenshot.

Any feedback appreciated of course.

Thank you Vincent!

I am seeing 10 components (rows) in the Section Layouts.
just to be sure: you are referring to the Section Text (?)
See attached.

Kind regards,

See below that list, it says “assigned to : Scene”

In your project, in the inspector, metadata panel, see what section type the documents (it should be the same for all of them) you want the indent automatically removed for are assigned to.
If it is “Scene”, then yes, that’s the one.

. . . . . . .

Looking back at your screenshot I can say that yes, most likely that’s the one.

You can test it right away. Just keep track of your changes in case it is not the right one.

(It could be the one above – “Titled section”. You could tell by whether the binder’s document’s name is used for a title or not.) (Or as I explained in the first half of this post.)

Hello @Vincent_Vincent

I find it hard to believe but I am still struggling with this.
Looking at my General Metadata, I see this:

…but I cannot find the text “assigned to : Scene” anywhere - this is in Compile >> Settings ?

Hi again

It is in the compile format.

This is from your own screenshot, in your previous post :

Hi @Kralan ,

See my response in your other thread on the use of styles.

ok, (re)solved by AntoniDol I needed to move the T-shape to the left of zero in Compile>>Section Layouts>>Section Text:

This will remove the first line indent from all non-styled paragraphs. Not just for the first paragraph of a chapter.

If this is what you wanted, good.
