how to view multiple folders & their contents in cork board

I think what I’m trying to accomplish is a hybrid between the cork board & the outline views - not sure if it exists?
in binder, I have 4 chapters, each chapter has multiple sections & each section has multiple folders & documents. I’d love to be able to see all of the folders & documents associated with chapter 1, for example, at the same time in cork board - ideally staggered to indicate where they are nested. is there ANY way to accomplish this? I’ve tried selecting multiple folders & docs in the binder, and then you can see them all, but they are not hierarchical & they stay in a grid-snap. is there a way to achieve this with the swim-lane view? maybe by assigning label or status? or messing with the section type?
I’ve now wasted a ton of precious time trying to figure this out, just so I can visualize the whole chapter (this is what I used to do across my bed with dozens of index cards until I found out about scrivener)
many thanks

Use Cmd-Click to select the desired folders in the Binder. Each folder will get its own section in the Corkboard view, with lines separating them.

Note that you have to explicitly select sub-folders if you want to show their contents. Otherwise they’ll just show a stack of cards as in the standard Corkboard.

thanks for your response. I’ve done this, but when I select multiple folders/documents, they just snap to a grid. how do I get them to segregate into their “own sections… with lines separating them” ? do these lines indicate hierarchy? this is part of my problem - when I see several in the cork board, there’s no indication about how they relate to one another - if they are nested, or independent, etc… what setting should I look for?
thx again
