I clicked quick reference and my entire draft was corrupted

It created a copy of scrivener on my home screen and when i try to open that file, it doesn’t let me. What can I do to get my draft back if possible?

I am confused. Did you create a backup somewhere, do a save as, move an already saved project, moved to a different computer and what happens when open?

I’m sorry, I didn’t leave much information. I’ve been trying different ways to get it back. Basically, I clicked the quick reference button next to the paperclip at the top. It did some weird flashing thing and then opened another screen (the quick reference selection), but erased or overwrote that document with a copy of scrivener. I now have two logos of scrivener on my desktop. I don’t have a backup (I wasn’t far into my work so I didn’t lose hours, but I still lost my outline I don’t have another computer to attempt your suggestion.

Nevermind! I figured it out! I had to uninstall then reinstall.

Glad you have it back. I would suggest use the backup to function under the file dropdown to backup off the computer such as usb or external hard drive every so often and especially in the beginning as set up project. also look at back up settings in options. I have set to back up on close with project, but lots of other settings.
