I deleted dropbox and now everything is broken

I removed Dropbox because it’s just not fit for purpose. You weren’t able to overwrite saves on it, it just makes a new file every time. Which prevented me from syncing to my iPad because the iPad wont sync unless there’s only one version of a file on drop box. I loved that it would sync to my iPad so I could leave my desktop and write on the go. Was a nice feature but, hey, it was too much to ask Dropbox not to make stupid versions of things I haven’t asked it to do to make weird clashes of files which makes scrivener unsyncable. I’ve given up on the iPad syncing dream. My problem is now, on desktop, I’ve removed it I cant see any of my subfolders or the content in them. I can see the titles. Also I cant add new texts or folders to it anymore. I have a back up of my scrivener project on a USB stick so I would have a cloud version and a USB version for safety (hah!). Why oh why has deleting Dropbox meant that its broken my project on the USB back up?!!!

You sure you’re not confusing where your WIP is saved/synced with your backup syncs to Dropbox?

Many users use Dropbox. Some have problems. There’s always a solution.

Did you move your project(s) out of the Dropbox folder before deleting the Dropbox software?

If the project wasn’t fully synced when you deleted the software, it’s possible that part of the project is marooned on the Dropbox server.
