I don't get Scrivener 3 (Windows 10) to sync with Dropbox. What do I wrong?

Scrivener backs up to my computer but not to my Dropbox account.

I can see my Scrivener project file in my Dropbox account but not that it keeps up saving my files despite that I back up.

Please let me know what you think is wrong.

Thanks!

With respect, that’s hilarious—and way beyond the scope of Scrivener.

Anyway, look into File > Options > Backup to manage periodic auto backups.

Also, access the Interactive Tutorial available from the Scrivener Help menu. It’s a project walkthrough that covers many basics of the app, including the philosophy of backups, though not specifically Dropbox.

These existing resources may help:

Lots more at

And in the Scrivener Manual. And @Kevitec57’s advice is terrific.

Don’t confuse Saving, Saving as… And backups.
Scrivener saves every 2 indle seconds, faster then you can find the menu command.
Don’t use Save as… Unless you want a copy of your Project to continue in.
Automatic backups on application close are zipped by default and cannot be opened by Scrivener without unzipping first.

Test the Dropbox sync by making an obvious change and let Dropbox do its thing. If this doesn’t work, check the extensive guidance in the Literature and Latte Knowledge Base.

Thanks, I will try to figure this out.
