Hi, I am considering purchasing Scrivener and any discussion around this topic seems to predate 2020! So I am hoping for some current info.
I am considering purchasing both the MacOS app and IOS app (iPad). I currently like to work on both my iPad and MacBook, if I was to purchase Scrivener, would I be able to set up a project on my MacBook (saved to my iCloud Drive) and then open my project on my iPad. I wouldn’t want to work on both devices at the same time - my current set up is usually working on my iPad during the day (out and about), and then working on my MacBook in an evening at home.
Just wondering your thoughts as I really love being able to work on either device. Is dropbox really the only way?!
Nothing has changed in this regard, so the older discussions are still accurate.
In summary:
If you’re asking about automatic syncing of changes–that is, your changes sync from device to device without you having to do anything other than giving them time to sync–then Dropbox is the only supported syncing service for iOS Scriv.
However, if you’re asking about you transferring copies of your entire project from device to device via a syncing service, then there are a few alternatives to Dropbox discussed in this thread, which you may have already read.
